Can you believe that it’s already the first day of Fall?

Also known as my favorite time of year. Bike rides in the crispy cool morning air (upper 60’s of course because we live in Florida, AmIRight?)
Everything about Autumn makes my heart giddy! Give me a pumpkin spice lattΓ© and leave me to walk aimlessly down the store aisles with shelves filled with seasonal themed decor.

Growing up I always enjoyed a lot of time in the kitchen with my mom. That included baking and sometimes licking the cake batter off the spoon πŸ™‚
She loved to bake sweet treats and always had homemade buttermilk biscuits ready to go in the mornings for breakfast to pair with a cup of coffee. Around this time of year she would create the coolest Halloween themed cupcakes and treats for my classroom while I was in elementary school. I remember her surprising my class with ‘Dirt Cups’ that were oozing with chocolate pudding and creepy crawly gummy worms…EVERYONE LOVED THEM! Baking around this time of year will always hold a special place in my heart.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Nightmare Before Christmas this year with Toynk Toys spooky collection featuring dinnerware, pot holders, an apron to help keep me clean and so much more!

HINT: It involves Jack Skellington and Oreos!

DIY JACK COOKIES

The easiest cookies to make that any oogie boogie would love!

Step One:
Melt white chocolate using a double broiler OR you can use the microwave.
I used the microwave method in 30 second intervals – making sure to stir every 15 seconds.

Step Two:
Dip your Oreos (I love the Halloween themed Oreos since the inside is orange)
Makes the perfect spooky touch!

Step Three:
Place on parchment paper to dry before decorating. Make sure to wait at least 30 minutes before drawing on your cookies. (I got impatient and attempted to decorate early and ended up with a few goopy eyed cookies)
